Virtual Heat Transfer Laboratory
Whilst you can't run actual experiments in the laboratory this year, this tool gives you access to real laboratory data crowd-sourced from previous reports! The input parameters to the experiment are the voltage to the heater (which is fixed) and the voltage to the fan (which is variable). After setting the inputs to the experiment, you get the data back as it would be in the lab - so differential pressure measurements off the pitot static tube, and temperatures. You can use this data to complete the lab practical..![Schematic of Apparatus](schematic.png)
Once you have run an experiment by setting the parameters, you can copy the data to the textbox. You can then change the fan voltage to start a new experiment.
To copy the textbox to your clipboard, click in the textbox, press CTRL-A to select all, then CTRL-C to copy. You can paste this into Excel. You can clear the textbox with the button at the bottom of the page.
